29 CFR 1910.134(k)(l): The employer did not provide effective respiratory protection training to employees who were required to wear respirators: a) Hamilton 2 and Madison 2: The employer required the Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), a Minimum Data Set (MDS) Coordinator and an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to wear respirators throughout their shifts at work. The Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), a Minimum Data Set (MDS) Coordinator and an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) were required to work with confirmed positive and suspect COVID-19 residents. The employees were not instructed on topics such as, but not limited to, care of respirators, extended use of respirators and seal checks. Violation occurred on or about 4/06/2020 and after. a) Hamilton 2 and Madison 2: The employer required the Certified Nursing Assistants to wear respirators throughout their shifts at work. The Certified Nursing Assistants were required to work with confirmed positive and suspect COVID-19 residents. The Certified Nursing Assistants were not instructed on topics such as, but not limited to, care of respirators, extended use of respirators and seal checks. The Violation occurred on or about 4/06/2020 and after. This instance refers to OSHA inspection #1486514 opened on 8/5/2020.
