29 CFR 1910.134(k)(1): The employer did not provide respirator training that would ensure each employee could demonstrate knowledge of items in section (i)-(vii): a) On or about July 28, 2020 Chicago Boiler Company dba CB Mills Division of Chicago Boiler Company, required its employees to use respiratory protection, including Miller air purifying half mask respirators and 3M Adflo PAPR w/ Speedglas welding helmet respirators, when conducting welding operations, without ensuring that each employee demonstrated knowledge on why the respirator was necessary and how improper fit, usage, storage or maintenance can compromise the protective effect of the respirator. No abatement certification or documentation required for this item.
