29 CFR 1910.134(k)(1): The employer did not provide effective training that covered the required elements in 1910.134(k)(1)(i) - (vii): a) Kennicott CILA Home located at 235 S. Kennicott Avenue, Arlington Heights, IL, 60005: On or about June 11, 2020 and dates thereafter, the employer did not provide employees with effective training on the effects of improper fit, limitations, maintenance and care, medical signs and symptoms preventing effective use, and seal check of filtering facepiece respirators. The employer required employees to wear N95 filtering facepiece respirators to protect against the SARS-CoV-2 virus while providing care to suspected and confirmed positive COVID-19 residents. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.
