29 CFR 1910.29(f)(4): Opening in the stair rail system exceeded 19 inches at its least dimension: Building 1327, Retail Store, Stairwell access to the 2nd floor: Employees were using the stairs to access the 2nd floor for tires stored in the South room. Employees use the stairs up to 20 times per day in conjunction with their normal duties. The stair rail system was not installed with a midrail and/or baluster to avoid an opening of greater than 19 inches. Employees were exposed to trip/miss-step and falls.
