Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001D Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.757(d)(1)(ii): Where the span of the steel joist is equal to or greater than the span shown in Tables A and B hoisting cables shall not be released until this bolted diagonal erection bridging is installed and anchored. Located within Sequence 17 Music Wing on October 10 and/or 11, 2016 Table A type short span open web steel bar joist series 22K7-J240 and 22K9-J237 both exceeding 40 foot 7 inches span were landed on the joist pocket structure with crane supported load lines releasing joist load prior to bolted diagonal erection bridging being installed and anchored as required in Table A of 1926.757 exposing employees to the hazard of being struck by unintentional joist displacement from the joist pocket bearing points.
