29 CFR 1910.335(a)(1)(i): Employees working in areas where there were potential electrical hazards were not provided with electrical protective equipment that was appropriate for the specific parts of the body that needed to be protected and for the work being performed: a. High Voltage Cage, Lab 2- Employees were not protected from electric shock hazards where the employer failed to require the wearing of insulated gloves when using a CPS HPV-250 high voltage probe. On or about July 29, 2014 an unqualified employee sustained an electric shock while voltage testing a power supply producing up to approximately 8900 volts DC. The employee was using the CPS HPV-250 high voltage probe that was modified by the employer by adding a lead that connects the probe tip to the test point. The employee contacted the lead with their hand and received an electric shock.
