29 CFR 1910.147(c)(6)(i): The employer shall conduct a periodic inspection of the energy control procedure at least annually to ensure that the procedure and the requirements of this standard are being followed. On or about December 13, 2024, the employer engaged in spot check walk ins to review, among other things, the general process for hazardous energy control (LOTO). However, as part of an ongoing update, the periodic inspections for the hazardous energy control (LOTO) procedures for the Pot-Mixer-Mepaco-02 machine, Model 170, Serial number 462, in the retort area, had not yet been completed and updated to identify and correct any inadequacies in the procedure.
