29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1):Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area: (Construction Reference: 1926.59) At the job site located at 5609 Lakecrest Dr. Shawnee, KS 66218, employees engaged in residential roofing activities were exposed to chemical hazards in that they were not provided training on the chemical hazards of gasoline. The chemical hazards associated with gasoline include: skin and eye irritation, drowsiness and/or dizziness, throat, lung and respiratory tract irritation, silicosis/siderosis, vomiting and/or diarrhea, suspected of causing cancer and may be fatal if swallowed and enters airways. Additionally, gasoline can act as a fueling agent due to its extreme flammability as a liquid and vapor.
