29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i):The employer did not provide adequate training to ensure that the purpose and function of the energy control program was understood by employees. 1). Whirlpool Corporation, on or about April 27, 2023 at the address of 1300 Marion-Agosta Road, Marion OH 43302: Employer did not effectively train employees to ensure that the purpose and function of the energy control program was understood by employees. The employer did not ensure employees understood when a task is considered minor servicing or maintenance and/or servicing. As a result the employee performed a maintenance and/serving activity without the benefit of fully controlling all potentially hazardous energy. Due to this condition, the employee was exposed to a crush/pinch point hazard and sustained an amputation to their left middle finger.
