29 CFR 1910.138(a): The employer did not select and require employees to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands are exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasions; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes. a. On or about February 17, 2023, in dock 29 refueling area, the employer did not ensure employees required to refuel forklifts with liquid propane gas (LPG) used thermal insulating gloves. Employees were, thereby exposed to potential cryogenic burns to the skin/hands from contact with LPG.
