29 CFR 1910.242(a): General requirements. Each employer shall be responsible for the safe condition of tools and equipment used by employees, including tools and equipment which may be furnished by employees. A.) American Turned Products, Inc., on or about July 1st, 2022: The Cecor Vacuum system was improperly used to transfer a waste sulfuric acid solution to a tote, and during the attempts to control the chemical reaction caused by the mixed liquids in the tote. The Cecor Vacuum listing and labeling states it is not to be used with corrosives. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below). This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
