Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001C Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.137(c)(2)(vii)(C): Any other class of glove may be used without protector gloves, under limited-use conditions, when small equipment and parts manipulation necessitate unusually high finger dexterity but only if the employer can demonstrate that the possibility of physical damage to the gloves is small and if the class of glove is one class higher than that required for the voltage involved. b) At the jobsite, on or about 1/3/20: An electrician was replacing a panel on an energized 800 amp service cabinet where the gloves he was using were too thick to manipulate the attachment screws, causing the worker to remove one glove to handle the screw and leaving that hand unprotected just prior to the arc-flash.
