29 CFR 1910.135(a)(1): The employer shall ensure that each affected employee wears a protective helmet when working in areas where there is a potential for injury to the head from falling objects. (a) On or about October 2, 2019 at machine #2, HPM Castmaster II 400 ton SN#74159 and machine #3, HPM Castmaster II 600 ton SN#78043, the employer did not ensure that die cast employees used head protection in that 1250 degree Fahrenheit molten aluminum (burn hazard) was spitting from the top of the die cast machines onto the employees below who were not provided with any protective head covering.
