Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001C Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.95(g)(6): At least annually after obtaining the baseline audiogram, the employer did not obtain a new audiogram for each employee exposed at or above an 8-hour time-weighted average of 85 decibels: a) On February 28, 2019, the fabricator on the Pipe Line in Building 1 was exposed to continuous noise levels at 236.0% of the permissible daily exposure (8-hour, time-weighted average sound level of 85 dbA or equivalently, a dose of 50 percent), during the 422 minute sampling period. Exposure calculations include a zero increment for the 58 minutes not sampled. The employer failed to obtain annual audiograms for employees exposed to the action level in building 1. b) On February 28, 2019, the fabricator in Building 2 was exposed to continuous noise levels at 105.6% of the permissible daily exposure (8-hour, time-weighted average sound level of 85 dbA or equivalently, a dose of 50 percent), during the 480 minute sampling period. The employer had not developed or implemented a monitoring program to assess employee noise level exposures in the area. The employer failed to obtain annual audiograms for employees exposed to the action level in building 2.
