29 CFR 1926.1153(f)(1): The employer allowed dry sweeping or dry brushing where such activity could contribute to employee exposure to respirable crystalline silica and wet sweeping, HEPA-filtered vacuuming or other methods were feasible: a) Outdoors: On or about November 1, 2018 and at times prior thereto; employees used a broom to sweep Silica containing HardiePlank dust; a thick collection of dust on the ground was visible below saw cutting surfaces, and the surrounding work areas which are not cleared on a daily basis. Note* Abatement certification IS required for this item.
