29 CFR 1910.107(i)(8): Interlocks. The electrical equipment shall be so interlocked with the ventilation of the spraying area that the equipment cannot be operated unless the ventilation fans are in operation. a) Armor Consolidated Inc., located in Lebanon Ohio, on or about October 24, 2018, the employer did not ensure that the electrical equipment was interlocked with the ventilation of the spraying area in that batch paint booth so that the equipment could not be operated unless the ventilation fans were in operation. An employee working in the batch paint booth in the back of the facility was exposed to a fire explosion hazard while powder coating equipment that was not interlocked.
