29 CFR 1910.146(d)(4)(iv): Under the permit-required confined space program required by 29 CFR 1910.146(c)(4), the employer did not provide personal protective equipment (PPE) in so far as feasible engineering and work practice controls did not adequately protect the employees : a) In the Paint Department, where the employer did not ensure that PPE such as, but not limited to, respirators and tyvek suits were used to protect the employees from chemical inhalation and thermal hazards prior to allowing employees to enter the Washer to install/replace the nozzle tips during the final process of the annual burnout procedure.
