29 CFR 1926.1101(f)(2)(i): The employer with a work operation covered by the asbestos standard did not ensure that a "competent person" conducted an exposure assessment immediately before or at the initiation of the operation to ascertain expected exposures during that operation or workplace: a) In the period between 20th and 23rd of June 2014, the employer did not ensure that a competent person conducted an exposure assessment immediately before or at the initiation of work by employees removing asbestos thermal insulation system (TSI) pipe elbows containing 5-35% chrysotile asbestos and PACM floor tile and mastic in the cafeteria. The TSI elbows were on the south wall of the cafeteria and eight other spray painted TSI pipe elbows in the school were also removed, thereby exposing employees to the hazards associated with asbestos.
