29 CFR 1910.1026(f)(1)(ii): Painting of aircraft or large aircraft parts was performed; however, the employer did not use feasible engineering and work practice controls to reduce and maintain employee exposures to chromium (VI) to or below 25 micrograms per cubic meter of air: a) Spray painting booth, on or about 3/26/14: A spray painter applying chromated epoxy polyamide yellow primer to helicopter parts was overexposed to chromium (VI) at an 8-hour TWA of 174 micrgrams per cubic meter for the 347 minutes sampled. A zero increment was included for the 133 minutes not sampled. Work practice controls were not used to reduce exposure. Abatement certification must be submitted for this item.
