OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employee(s) in that employee(s) were exposed to the hazard of being caught by: Inside of the Vehicle Maintenance Department, the following machines were not equipped with emergency stops: a/ Superior Power Tools Heavy Duty Drill Press, m/n 33-R27, s/n 55182. Inside of the Machine Shop, the following machines were not equipped with emergency stops: a/ Lucas Horizontal Boring Mill, m/n 43, s/n 43-3-1. b/ Supermill, m/n AV55, s/n 5040-6. c/ American Radial Arm Drilling Machine, unknown m/n, s/n 65101. d/ ENCO Milling Machine, unknown m/n or s/n. e/ Bridgeport Milling Machine, s/n 44156. One method of abatement to correct this apparent hazard is to install emergency stops as required by ANSI B11.8, paragraph 6.12.3.
