29 CFR 1928.51(d): Operating instructions. Every employee who operates an agricultural tractor was not informed of the operating practices contained in Appendix A of this part and of any other practices dictated by the work environment at least annually. On or about September 11, 2012, employees were exposed to struck-by hazards when the employer did not provide annual training (including subjects such as, but not limited to, the requirement to use seat belts when the vehicle is equipped with a cab or ROPS) to insure that employees safely operated equipment such as, but not limited to, tractors and tree diggers. The employer did not provide annual training for employees who operated farm equipment.
