Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to being struck by a vehicle: a.On or about October 19, 2007, a KOMATSU WA500-6 wheel loader was operated when one of the back-up lights was not functioning. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to inspect all of the lights on the loader prior to each use, and ensure that the lights are operational prior to operating the equipment. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED.TION
