Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of being struck by or caught between a Front End Loader and other Equipment: (a) On or about 12/29/00 - Employer did not require employees to conduct walk around inspections on the front end loader to check for leaks or broken or loose parts. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to require employees to conduct an inspection on the equipment prior to use to identify any defects, in accordance with manufacturer instruction manual, page 38 under section "Procedures Before Starting".
