29 CFR 1910.37(e): Employer did not install and maintain an operable employee alarm system that had a distinctive signal to warn employees of fire or other emergencies: a) 156 West Harrisburg Avenue, Elizabethtown, PA 17022: On or about February 28, 2024, an anhydrous ammonia leak occurred which prompted an evacuation of the building and repairs to the ammonia system. An ammonia alarm system was not present at the facility to alert employees to the presence of anhydrous ammonia. Abatement certification and documentation required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date and method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. Abatement documentation shall include documents demonstrating that abatement is complete, such as evidence of the purchase or repair of equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement or other written records.
