Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001B Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i)(A):Each authorized employee shall receive training in the recognition of applicable hazardous energy sources, the type and magnitude of the energy available in the workplace, and the methods and means necessary for energy isolation and control. a) On or about 3/05/2024, the employer did not ensure that each authorized employee received adequate training such as but not limited to following documented procedures that included using lockout devices to isolate and control electrical energy from batteries for powered industrial vehicles and blocks for gravity when the forks are up during servicing and maintenance such as troubleshooting a pallet lift truck (Raymond Model 8410, SN:841-15-23302) to prevent exposing employees' hands located inside the tractor to pinch point hazards from the movement of the battery compartment frame while the battery was still being connected and energizing the lift truck.
