1910.146(c)(7)(i): If the permit space poses no actual or potential atmospheric hazards and if all hazards within the space are eliminated without entry into the space, the permit space may be reclassified as a non-permit confined space for as long as the non-atmospheric hazards remain eliminated. a) Domtar Paper Company, LLC, C10 Conveyor area, on or about January 25th 2024, the employer failed to reclassify the C10 conveyor tunnel as a non-permit required confined space before contractor employees conducted work operations in areas that exposed them to the atmospheric hazard of Hydrogen Sulfide. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation. This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. IN ADDITION, abatement documentation shall include documents demonstrating that abatement is complete, such as evidence of the purchase or repair of equipment, photographic, or video evidence or abatement or other written records.
