29 CFR 1910.107(e)(2): Flammable liquids and liquids with a flashpoint greater than 199.4F (93C): Quantity. The quantity of flammable liquids or liquids with a flashpoint greater than 199.4 �F (93 �C) kept in the vicinity of spraying operations shall be the minimum required for operations and should ordinarily not exceed a supply for 1 day or one shift. Bulk storage of portable containers of flammable liquids or liquids with a flashpoint greater than 199.4 �F (93 �C) shall be in a separate, constructed building detached from other important buildings or cut off in a standard manner. a) On or about January 5, 2024, the employer did not ensure that quantities of flammable liquids (specifically isopropanol 99%), which exceeded 1 day or one shift's supply, were not kept in the vicinity of the spraying operation (clear-coat paint booth), in that approximately 18 gallons of waste isopropanol 99% was kept in a 55-gallon drum inside the clear-coat spray booth, exposing employees to a fire hazard.
