Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001B Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.95(g)(1): The employer did not establish and maintain an audiometric testing program as provided by 29 CFR 1910.95(g) by making audiometric testing available to all employees whose exposures equal or exceed an 8-hour time-weighted average of 85 decibels: a) Cathode Powder Mixing Room/ Electrode Department - On or about 6/30/2023, and at times prior to, an employee working near the hopper machine was exposed to continuous noise dose of 66.9%, or an equivalent of 87.1 dBA that exceed an 8-hour time-weighted average of 85 dBA when the employer did not establish and maintain an audiometric testing program. The sampling was performed for 417 minutes during one shift on 06/30/2023; exposure calculations included a zero increment for the 63 minutes not sampled. b) Cathode Powder Mixing Room/ Electrode Department- On or about 6/30/2023, and at times prior to, an employee working near the hopper machine was exposed to continuous noise dose of 62%, or an equivalent of 86.6 dBA that exceed an 8-hour time-weighted average of 85 dBA when the employer did not establish and maintain an audiometric testing program. The sampling was performed for 414 minutes during one shift on 06/30/2023; exposure calculations included a zero increment for the 66 minutes not sampled.
