29 CFR 1910.23(c)(1): The employer did not ensure that rungs and steps of portable metal ladders are corrugated, knurled, dimpled, coated with skid-resistant material, or otherwise treated to minimize the possibility of slipping. (a) On or about January 12, 2023, in the preparation hangar, employees performing prep work used A-frame ladders that were covered in overspray such that the steps were no longer corrugated. (b) On or about January 12, 2023, in the preparation hangar, employees performing prep work used an A-frame ladder that had the bottom step repaired with sheet metal and the corrugation was not maintained.
