29 CFR 1910.29(b)(2): The employer did not ensure that guardrail systems met the requirement that mid-rails, screens, mesh, intermediate vertical members, solid panels, or equivalent intermediate members that are installed between the walking-working surface and the top edge of the guardrail system as follows when there is not a wall or parapet that is at least 21 inches (53 cm) high: a) Building #1 Pipe/Weld shop: On or about 07/20/2022, a section of middle railing along the edge of the mezzanine was missing thereby exposing employees to a possible 10ft fall hazard. b) Building #3 loading dock: On or about 07/20/2022, a section of middle railing was missing thereby exposing employees to a possible 4ft fall hazard. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
