Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001B Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.134(g)(1)(i)(A): Respirators with tight-fitting facepieces were worn by employees who had facial hair that came between the sealing surface of the facepiece and the face or that interfered with valve function: (a) At a worksite located at 1921 West US Highway 50, Lone Jack, MO 64070, an employee was exposed to respiratory hazards associated with wearing of a respirator. The employer required the use of tight fitting respirators when accessing a container which contained a storage area for dry ice (carbon dioxide). The employee was wearing a tight fitting respirator while having facial hair that came between the sealing surface of the respirator and the employee's face.
