29 CFR 1910.252(a)(2)(iv): Cutting or welding was permitted in areas before the areas were inspected by the individual responsible for authorizing cutting and welding operations. On or about December 29, 2021, an employee was cutting metal with a cutting torch in an area that was not inspected by an authorized person. This exposed the employee to a fire hazard.
