29 CFR 1910.138(b): The employer did not base the selection of the appropriate hand protection on an evaluation of the performance characteristics of the hand protection relative to the task(s) to be performed, conditions present, duration of use, and the a.) Tonnard Manufacturing Corp.; sanding department - On or about 11/3/21, proper gloves were not selected to protect against cut hazards. An employee sustained an injury while wearing cotton gloves while handling parts coming off of the sander's conveyor. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below). This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
