29 CFR 1910.502(h)(1): The employer did not ensure that each employee was separated from all other people by at least 6 feet when indoors when such physical distancing was feasible. a) AMITA Alexian Brothers Medical Center located at 800 Biesterfield Rd. in Elk Grove Village, IL 60007: On or about August 26, 2021, the employer failed to ensure that unvaccinated employees working in the Sterile Processing Department were separated from all other employees by at least 6 feet when indoors. Technicians spent in excess of 15 minutes per shift in close proximity (less than 6 feet) from other employees when working in the Assembly and Sterilization section of the Sterile Processing Department. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.
