29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(i): The point of operation of machines whose operation exposes an employee to injury, was not guarded properly. The guarding device shall be in conformity with any appropriate standards therefore, or, in the absence of applicable specific standards, was not designed and constructed as to prevent the operator from having any part of his body in the danger zone during the operating cycle. On our about October 20, 2020, the employer failed to ensure employees attempting to unjam/unclog free running salt bins could use a regular tool to remove the transition boot which covers the automated slide guards.
