29 CFR 1910.134(k)(1)(i): The employer did not ensure that each employee could demonstrate knowledge of why the respirator was necessary and how improper fit, usage, or maintenance could compromise the protective effect of the respirator: a) Facility: Employees were required to wear N95 filtering facepiece respirators while providing direct patient care to COVID-19 positive patients and patients under investigation for COVID-19. The employer failed to ensure that each employee could demonstrate knowledge of why the respirator was necessary and the circumstances under which it should be used, on or about 07/15/20.
