29 CFR 1910.134(d)(1)(ii): The employer did not select and use a NIOSH-certified respirator in compliance with the conditions of its certification: At the facility, employees were provided a single-strap dust mask to be used for comfort from pollen or other allergens in lieu of a respirator for use with organic solvents and respirable dust: (a): In the bleach area, employees dispense chemical products including but not limited to concentrated bleach (Sodium hypochlorite) into plastic containers, (b): In the mixer area, employees are exposed to respirable dust (SoBind Impression R5L Soy Polymer [CMC, Carboxymethyl cellulose]), and other powdered chemical ingredients, while performing mixing operations during manufacturing of soap detergents.
