29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment (PPE): (a) Acetylene Plant: On or about August 15, 2019 and at times prior, employees are exposed to fire and explosion hazards while blowing down acetylene bottles prior to maintenance. Employee wear short sleeve shirts and pants/shorts. The employer had not identified the need for flame resistant (FR) clothing or other protective equipment. Note: Abatement certification and documentation are required for this item.
