Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001B Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.1200(g)(8): The employer did not maintain in the workplace copies of the required safety data sheets for each hazardous chemical, and did not ensure that they were readily accessible during each work shift to employees when they were in their work area: a) On June 4, 2019 and at times prior, an employee suffered facial skin burn after being exposed to a cleaning chemical (SHC Extreme II) that was used to clean equipment at the production area. The chemical contains sodium hydroxide and is corrosive. The employer did not ensure that the safety data sheet of SHC Extreme II chemical was readily accessible to the employees.
