Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001B Hazard:
29 CFR 1917.112(c)(2): Guardrails which were not of solid baluster, or similar construction, did not consist of top rails and mid-rails: a) Pier 6 Dumper: On or about 08/07/2019, ladder accesses provided with a top rail between 36 and 42 inches high were not provided with a middle rail, as a result employees were exposed to a possible fall hazards. b) Pier 6 Dumper House, Operator's Cabin: On or about 08/07/2019, a middle rail was not provided on the platform where operators access to clean cabin window, as a result employees were exposed to a possible fall hazard. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
