29 CFR 1910.333(c)(2): The employer did not ensure that only qualified persons were allowed to work on energized circuit parts or equipment that had not been de-energized under the procedures of paragraph (b) of this section and that such persons were capable of working safely on energized circuits and familiar with the proper use of special precautionary techniques, personal protective equipment, insulating and shielding materials, and insulated tools. a) Capitol Region Readiness Center Battery Room: On or about December 4, 2018 and times prior, an employee was working on removing and installing energized batteries for the Uninterrupted Power Supply system in the battery room. The employee was not a qualified person and was not familiar with the personal protective equipment or special precautionary techniques such as approach distances when working with energized equipment.
