Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001B Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.451(f)(12): Work on or from scaffolds was not prohibited during storms or high winds and a competent person did not determine that it was safe for employees to be on the scaffold: a) On or about December 6, 2018; visitor screening center east-side of the monument; employees were working from a bakers scaffold performing painting operations during high winds of approximately 20 mph causing the scaffold to tip over. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet), in addition, documentation demonstrating the abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.
