29 CFR 1926.950(d): Existing characteristics and conditions. Existing characteristics and conditions of electric lines and equipment that are related to the safety of the work to be performed shall be determined before work on or near the lines or equipment is started. a. On or about October 3, 2018, the employer did not assess existing conditions at the worksite to determine that 69KV overhead transmission lines were located within the working area of a new pole installation to ensure employees working onsite had the necessary information to ensure employee protection from contact with the lines.
