Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001B Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employers did not provide employees with effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment, and whenever a new physical or health hazard the employees had not previously been trained about was introduced into their work area and chemical-specific information was not always available through labels and material safety data sheets: The employer is failing to protect employees from exposure to chemical hazards. This was most recently documented on or about May 2, 2017 at the jobsite located at 1203 Ridge Circle, Tonganoxie, Kansas. Employees were exposed to health hazards in that they were not trained on hazardous chemicals used on the jobsite, such as but not limited to gasoline, liquid petroleum gas, and other roofing materials and adhesives.
