29 CFR 1910.147(c)(6)(i): The employer shall conduct a periodic inspection of the energy control procedure at least annually to ensure that the procedure and the requirements of this standard are being followed. On or about November 5, 2016, employees on the Comfort Bath Cleansing System Line 1 were exposed to amputations when performing setup activities, such as hand threading rolled sheet foam into the in-feed rollers of the slitter. The employer did not conduct a periodic inspection of the energy control procedures, at least annually, to ensure that the procedures and the requirements of the standard were being followed. Abatement certification is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(c).
