Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001B Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(3)(iii): Employee training did not include the measures employees can take to protect themselves from chemical hazards, including specific procedures the employer had implemented to protect employees from exposure to hazardous chemicals, such as appropriate work practices, emergency procedures and personal protective equipment to be used: The employer is failing to protect employees from chemical hazards while engaging in maintenance activities. This was most recently documented at 6200 South Ridge Road, Wichita, Kansas, where employees using hazardous chemicals, including but not limited to: WD-40, Copper Coat pipe dope, Poly Vinyl Chloride glue, and cutting oil, were exposed to dermal and respiratory hazards. Employees had not received training in the measures employees can take to protect themselves from exposure to hazardous chemicals.
