29 CFR 1910.134(h)(4)(i):Repairs or adjustments to respirators were not made using the respirator manufacturer's NIOSH-approved parts designed for that respirator: a) USS Forrest Sherman, BAE Systems: On or about 04/06/2016, a repair was not made using a manufacturer's NIOSH approved part in that a flow control valve was connected to the tube of the MSA Abrasive-Blast tight fitting full face respirator with tie-wire. Abatement certification and documentation required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date and method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. Abatement documentation shall include documents demonstrating that abatement is complete, such as evidence of the purchase or repair of equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement or other written records.
