29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed: The employer does not ensure that its employees who use a ladder to access an upper landing surface that the ladder side rails are extend at least 3 feet above the upper landing surface being accessed. a. This violation occurred most recently on or about November 23, 2015 on the NW side of a single-family dwelling, where employees were using a Werner extension ladder to access the roof without the ladder rails extending at least 3 feet above the landing area. b. This violation occurred most recently on or about November 23, 2015 on the SE side of a single-family dwelling, where employees were using a Werner extension ladder to access the roof without the ladder rails extending at least 3 feet above the landing area.
