29 CFR 1926.960(c)(1)(iii): The employer shall ensure that no employee approaches or takes any conductive object closer to exposed energized parts than the employer's established minimum approach distance, unless: 29 CFR 1926.960(c)(1)(iii)(B): The energized part is insulated from the employee and from any other conductive object at a different potential: a. Located near Kaiser Drive and 1455 James Parkway in Heath, Ohio: On or about August 20, 2015, a line mechanic was exposed to an electrocution hazard while assisting a co-worker by guiding the butt of a new, yellow pine, utility pole in order to provide electrical service for a new commercial building. The lineman was not protected from contact with an ungrounded copper ground wire attached to the pole by means not limited to the use of personal protective equipment and effective shielding of energized conductors.
