29 CFR 1910.134(e)(1): The employer did not provide a medical evaluation to determine the employee's ability to use a respirator, before the employee was fit tested or required to use the respirator in the workplace: (a) An employee, powder coater, was exposed to particulates not otherwise regulated (total dust) at an 8 hour time weighted average of 55.17 milligrams per cubic meter of air (mg/M3) while operating the manual powder coat gun. The employee was required to wear a negative pressure respirator and was not medically evaluated to determine his ability to wear the respirator without suffering adverse health effects, on or about November 5, 2013. "ABATEMENT OBSERVED DURING INSPECTION - NO CERTIFICATION REQUIRED" Note: The employer may discontinue an employee's medical evaluations when the employee is no longer required to use a respirator.
